Mr. Chen, a 48 years old patient from China with type 2 diabetes and sequelae of cerebral infarction, received stem cell treatment in China in February 2010.
In June 2004, Mr. Chen was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes along with degenerative side effect of diabetic retinopathy. As his condition deteriorated, he experienced cerebral infarction 5 years later. He was diagnosed with “cerebral artery stenosis with infraction”, “arterial occlusion at the A2 section of the right anterior cerebreal artery” and “arteriosclerosis”.
As for his hyperglycaemia, Mr. Chen’s FPG (Fasting Plasma Glucose) leveled at 9-10mmol/L while 2h PBG (Postprandial Blood Glucose) leveled at 14mmol/L. His vision was poor due to the diabetic retinopathy. He could only see blurred shadows. He had confusion on indentifying friends and family. He also complained about irregular speech pattern and numbness on limbs.
Besides, Mr. Chen also had high blood pressure. He was prescribed with three types of medication for hypertension.
As the quality of his life was getting poorer and poorer, Mr. Chen and his family were actively seeking some new treatment for his condition.

Mr. Chen felt more energetic. Blood glucose was controlled at normal level, FPG indicated 4.9mmol/L. Medication for hypertension has reduced to two types, with the same dosage. His speech pattern is improved, and there is no numbness of lower limbs any more.
